OUR TECHNOLOGICAL CHOICES
A wind turbine allows to convert the wind energy into mechanical energy, itself being converted into electricity by a generator.
Numerous stages are necessary for this conversion.
For its range of Metronome, EOLYS has chosen to use active control as it offers higher efficiency on a wider wind range compared to passive techniques.
The various technological choices are detailed below:
HORIZONTAL AXIS

HORIZONTAL AXIS
EOLYS designed its wind turbines around an horizontal axis.
This technique - inherited from the ancient windmills and from aeronautics - uses wind lift strength. This technological choice presents numerous advantages compared to vertical axis:
 • simple design for low maintenance
 • mature technology inherited from the aeronautics
 • high efficiency even in low wind conditions
 • moderate price.
Horizontal axis wind turbine allows the use of other techniques such as active furling to optimize the efficiency of the installation.
We do not advise setting up a wind generator on a building since such installations generate vibrations, inducing noise pollution and building masonry fatigue.
